Brynffynnon was originally built as a Victorian rectory, housing the minister serving the four non-conformist chapels in the area. The house has retained all of the original features over the years despite having many different uses over its lifetime, and it still keeps all of its original charm, making it a great place to stay and relax, while you experience the best that Wales has to offer.
Our Rooms
Our four guest bedrooms on the first floor are a mixture of Victorian splendour and modern-day comforts, with antique furniture, sumptuous beds and items collected from around the world. We have three king bedrooms and one twin room. All rooms have their own bathroom. Two rooms have free-standing baths, one has a spa bath and they all have showering facilities too. Things to do
Dolgellau is at the foot of Cader Idris Mountain, one of the most dramatic and beautiful peaks in Wales. A trek up to the summit at Penygader is said by many to be more challenging than Snowdon, so a hearty breakfast from our guesthouse is highly recommended before you set off!
Spectacular Bird Rock, known locally as Craig Yr Aderyn, is also well worth a hike, and is just a few miles to the south towards Tywyn.
There is also plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, with tranquil paths, white sandy beaches, cliff top castles, museums, white water rafting, paragliding, rock climbing, zip wiring and mountain biking to mention a few!
Our bed and breakfast in Dolgellau is an ideal location for hiking and walking. We are 24 miles from Snowdon, 20 min from Barmouth beaches, and 20 min from the coastline. Brynffynnon is in the centre of town at just a few minute walk of a great selection of pubs restaurants and shops.

They are very affable, great fun and they have an amazing property, full of lovely furniture, delightful views and a great breakfast to boot! They even allowed me to charge up my electric car!
Directions
Our bed and breakfast in Dolgellau is just off Cader Road on the way out of Dolgellau. You can find us by turning up Mount Pleasant Road, and our guesthouse is just where it converges with Love Lane, about halfway up the hill.
